5 Days Fes Marrakech Desert Tour

Day 1 : Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes

We will begin our journey towards Merzouga after having breakfast in Fes. During our way, we will go via a snowy city of Ifrane which is seen as Switzerland in Morocco. Moreover, we will keep going across a large forest of cedar and oak trees on which you may see wild monkeys. Two hours later, we will reach Midelt for lunch and then we continue our way via Tizi Ntalghamt Pass through the summits of Atlas Mountains and along Ziz Valley and its gorges. Later, we will get to Merzouga.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

Throughout the second day, we will have amazing experience in Sahara desert of Merzouga where we will try nomad’s way of living. After this, you will be directed to a black village called Khamlia which is known by Gnawa music. And a traditional pizza will be eaten for lunch in Rissani. Today afternoon, we are crossing the sand dunes by camels guided by an experienced guy. About half an hour later, we are to reach our camp under which we will spend our night especially after we watch the sunset and have a tajine for dinner. In addition, you will see the moon coming up over the sands while you are listening to berber music.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Todgha Gorges

When you enjoy your morning meal, we will be back to the hotel for a bath and abandon the dunes of Erg Chebbi by taking a road across a black desert called Hamada arriving at Rissani. Continuously, we will get to Erfoud which is famous with fossils. We will have a pause so you can go to see fossil shops. Later on, we pursue our way into deep Gorges of Toudgha. These gorges attract a lot of alpinists. Luckily, you will go for a stroll within the canyons towards a hotel where we will stay for the night.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

During the fourth day particularly after breakfast, we will follow our road along with which there are lots of Kasbahs till we reach Dades valley. Next, we are to climb a mountainous place where we will explore nomad’s way of life in caves. They live on following herds and goats. In addition to that, you will enjoy beautiful views of valley flowers as you are getting close to Skoura palm oasis. Half an hour later, we will have to be in Ouarzazate hotel for dinner and bed.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

Concerning today, we are going to go sightseeing a Kasbah called Taourirt which literally refers to ‘hill’. After doing so, we will move to visit the most beautiful Ksar in Morocco. It is Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou to where film makers come. It is also considered a world heritage site. Subsequently, we are to visit a berber mountainous village of Telouet as well as Kasbah El-Glaoui and then we return to Telouet for lunch in a restaurant. At last, we will travel to Marrakech through the pass of Tizi N-tichka.
